I doesn't keep food hot, I have 2 of them. The container gets hot about an hr or two later your food is warm. I do preheat the container with hot water before adding food.

It's because it's double layer insulation. Only a few of these insulated bowls are triple insulated, S'Well is one and there is another one that is about 1/3 more expensive than S'Well. Ive used the S'Well containers, gives you around 4 hours of hot temps for food so about double the dual layer insulation. Think these are more suited for people who dont want to use glass/plastic tupperware and want to eat fruits/veggies

I need a minimum of 6 insulated layers. Or I send it back.

It's needs to be vacuum insulated
