This is after getting the 9 Pro nearly free when Best Buy had silly trade-in deals to pre-order 2 summers ago. So I guess I now expect a nearly free Pixel every 18 months.
Community Reviews
The Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL deal was strongest when the $400 Play code stacked with in cart discounts and trade in credits, driving upgrades into the $50 to $150 range and, in a few cases, even lower with Google One or Google Store credit. That made the 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL feel like unusually cheap upgrades, especially for higher storage models. The main catch was that stacking later stopped working, with codes replacing other promos or failing at checkout. A few orders were still honored, but the window appears to have closed.
The $400 Play perks code can enable very low out-of-pocket upgrades after trade-in credits.
The deal can stack with additional Google One store credit to reduce the effective upgrade cost further.
Some orders show unusually low final totals after trade-in and coupon application.
Trade-in credits can arrive quickly enough to make the upgrade feel straightforward after checkout.
The $400 Play Store code may not stack with other promotions, showing an error about one code per order.
The stacking discounts can disappear after adding items to cart or at checkout, making the final price higher than expected.
The deal can be account- and eligibility-dependent, with some members not seeing a code at all.
Touch performance issues have been reported on Pixel 10 Pro, including needing multiple taps in specific screen areas.
