I've put a similar work bench together and it took me an hour tops. Everyone had different skillsets when it comes to putting things together. Just because it took you 4-6 hours, doesn't mean it will take everyone that amount of time

Assembly of these takes literal hours, 4-6 HOURS. I ended up selling the one I bought a few years ago and just buying something used off Facebook that was already assembled. Everyone's time is worth a different amount, but I did not think my time was worth building this.

Which way are you going with the wow...that it can take 4-6 hours to assemble the work bench or that he sold his for an already assembled one? I mean it looks like it comes in a flat pack so you have to even assemble the drawers, but then again it's $145 bucks.
My work is not paying me to assemble this one so my time to set it up on a weekend or after work is free.
If my job paid me soo much that i would extrapolate that to any task around the house, i would just order a fully assembled one from HomeDepot or Costco for $600-900 and be done with it, granted at that point i would also never look at a work bench that's $145 on sale...But maybe that's just me.

Got this from walmart. It's a piece of sh*t the top doors don't don't close properly, terrible design, cheap quality. However, the bottom drawers are okay.

If it's solid and stable, yes. 100%.

My first workbench was similar to this, from Lowe's, and it was rickety as hell, unstable, and frankly not worth the money I paid. My next bench was far, far more useful. If this is being bought for storage, it's decent. If you plan to do anything on it, spend a little more, get something a lot more stable. You'll thank me later.

Which are expensive. My path was simple 2x4 frame, two layer plywood top, and good metal tool boxes and things under.

It always comes down to this: time vs money. Buying this post is cheaper and takes longer with moderate results. Mine is more expensive with pretty good results and a modest amount of time. Buying a full one from the store is really expensive but zero time

Time vs money

I got one of those ultra-strong shelving units, cut it in half and put thick plywood planks on top. Now I have 2 workbenches 😎
