Oiled compressors are larger and will have a site glass on them. Oilless will be smaller and have no opening/glass for oil.
Great price for a home owner that needs to air up tires or general use but does not want to spend a lot or need daily.
Community Reviews
This 3 gallon Husky pancake compressor is mainly a compact, low cost option for topping off tires, trim nailing, brad nailers, and other occasional home tasks. It is small and portable enough to keep in a trunk, and the 120 PSI rating makes it useful for light duty jobs. The big tradeoffs are noise, limited air volume, and slow recovery, so it is not suited to continuous use or larger air tools. It also does not include an air hose, making it a practical but narrow-use pick.
Common Questions (5)
It is best for light, occasional jobs like topping off tires, trim or brad nailing, and small home tasks. It has enough pressure but limited volume, so it is not suited for continuous air-tool use, larger nailers, or heavier jobs like flooring installs.
Yes. It is repeatedly described as extremely loud, even louder than some older compressors and comparable small oil-free units. Oil-free pancake compressors are generally louder, but this one is still considered a particularly noisy model.
Yes. Its small, oil-free design makes it lighter and easier to carry, and it is a good low-cost option for keeping in a trunk or using only when needed. It is aimed at occasional home use rather than daily work.
Yes, for limited use it can. It should work fine for a trim or brad nailer in a single room, but it is not ideal for rapid-fire use or larger nailers because the tank volume is small.
No, it does not include an air hose. You need to supply your own hose and accessories.

Anyway yes these oil free ones are going to be much louder - but these also aren't the type that you're really going to be using routinely. You could, but these are intended for situations like using pneumatics inside a home like trim nailing and such.

I thought, surely this newer air compressor (AC) can't be louder than my 13 year old AC. Wrong. This is noticeably louder. And like others pointed out, it does not come with an air hose. I know it is cheap @$34, so I can't ask for too much, but holy sht it is loud. My old AC still works, but it is only 2 gal and 100psi. So this newer AC is an upgrade, but the decibel really makes me question if it is worth it.
But again, $34, beggars can't be choosers.
