I like PRS guitars but the silver sky SEs have the worst fretwork. Legit like playing a guitar with nails sticking out. I have 2 SEs and a s2 for reference. Player 2 fenders are much better if you want a strat.

Hey thanks for the input. I appreciate it especially since you mention you already own PRS guitars so you know what you're talking about. It is odd that the quality would be lower on these. Hopefully my Sweetwater rep will throw in free set up.

I've owned high end like JP15's etc, and got the Platinum Spark
a while back. Zero complaints on fret work. Plastic knobs/switch are meh but I don't care.
Now all my time is playing this JamStik in Sky Blue. Bought direct; crazy value and capability.

The NF3 is also on sale for even less at $550. Maple or rosewood. It's similar but different with arguably more expensive pickups that are hum cancelling narrow humbuckers.

Unfortunately a lot of new guitars right now have sharp fret ends. They don't dress them at the factory it seems. Fender Players, Squier Classic Vibes, Squier Affinity, Yamaha Revstar, PRS SE CE, all have had sharp fret ends when I played them in stores. Not all examples, some were fine. Although I played 3 PRS SE CE standards and 1 had sharp fret ends, and 2 were very smooth. I kept the third and love it. PRS SE CE 24 Standard Satin Stoptail.
It seems to me that all guitars in this range, with maple bolt on necks, may arrive with sharp fret ends.
I now own a Stew Mac fret end dressing file to deal with all my guitars. $20 and now they are all sweet to play. And in the future if I get a guitar with sharp ends that sounds good, I will fix them myself.

I bought my SE Custom 24 from Sweetwater during the pandemic. They advertise a 55 point guitar check which includes frets. Not sure if they fix fret work before shipping but my guitar arrived in tune, polished, and smooth frets.

Sweetwater already does a semi-setup. Maybe if you ask your rep real nice they'll throw in a free plek!

They may give you a free plectrum, not a free plek Stick Out Tongue
