The conversion rate is 40% now, so 12 months of essential = 4.8 months of ultimate/$13.33 a month. To convert 12 months of Xbox Game Pass Core (formerly Essential) to Ultimate, redeem the codes while you have no active Ultimate subscription, then purchase 1 month of Ultimate to convert at a 2:1 ratio. 12 months of Core becomes roughly 6 months of Ultimate, as the ratio has updated from 3:2 to 2:1.
