My mistake. The one I have is the Q7, not T7

I got the 75" version from BBY for $600 in September minus 20% Capitol One cashback and it's been great so far. No, it's not top of the line brightness and HDR, but at this pricepoint it's really good. My only complaints, and they're minor, is (1)with the dimming zones when you have bright text on a black background (like end credits), the text brightness is really uneven (no issues with normal video), and (2) at wide viewing angles the colors wash out. It's typical for a VA panel though and no worse than the circa 2016 Samsung it replaced. All in all, really pleased with it

i just ordered an open box 50" TCL QM5K for $320. This seems like a better deal. Any reason not to cancel that and order this in 55" instead?

I'd go mini led if you can. I have a Hisense u8. Game changer in brightness and pretty darn good black levels.

TCL T7 does not have local dimming from what I've read on it. No reason to think it does as its a QLED not mini LED.
This looks similar if not the same as the Costco TCL Q77k series. Q77 lists a HVA panel the T7 doesn't say if it has it. Costco had the 55" Q77 last month at $280 instore and online. Currently online it's $330 and last week instore I saw it for $299. Also comes with a 5 year warranty. So probably a better deal if you have a membership.
That said its still on the low end budget level, but probably better than other products in the price range.

My mistake. The one I bought is actually the Q7, not T7. I'll edit my comment
