I have a bunch of tapo wifi cams, smart switches and sensors. Never have a connectivity problem with any of them. One thing to note is that all of the battery/solar cams I have will not do 24/7 recording, only motion activated.

How do they compare to Wyze or Eufy? I've been a fan of Kasa but haven't tried Tapo yet and considering swapping everything out and unifying under 1 platform.

Not quite. You don't need to subscribe/pay for the premium service (cloud storage) and you can use local storage / live view. You will need to insert a decent quality and sized micro-SD card to record videos. They do not work without internet connection though.

Most likely your router having an issue.
All my TAPO cameras work great over wifi. Zero issues, even on mesh network.
Solar seems to keep up with even the most aggressive recordings....

I have several tapo wifi cameras and the c660 models allow 24/7 recording. It still keeps the battery full at the most aggressive recording settings doing 24/7.

Can't speak about Wyze or Eufy but coming from YiHome, quality is so much better, it connects almost immediately which is what you'd like for a basic security camera. As far as one unified platform, I have both Kasa and Tapo and all the features from the Kasa app flowed into the Tapo app. Hope that helps.

What are you talking bout, most of their models do have poe? Infact I bought a newer 4k version from them and it has poe. Maybe buy the right camera the first time

I attempted making the switch from eufy to Tapo solar. What I liked about Tapo was superior image quality (granted, my eufys were older), good build quality, and a better app experience.
In the end, I am going back to eufy for 2 reasons: 1) Tapo didn't allow downloading video clips when not on your home WiFi, and 2) Tapo only provides rich notifications (I.e., with thumbnails) with a cloud subscription - which I try to avoid. I got tired of having to open the app every time my cameras detected any motion.

I just do the playback option and screen record to download clips outside of home.
