LG's 65 inch C5 OLED is landing as a strong value for a brand new premium TV, with the deal price holding at $1,096.99 in some listings and looking especially attractive versus older C3 refurb pricing. The C5 is also being weighed favorably against Samsung's S90F and S90D, with RTINGS comparisons described as very close and price driving the choice. The main friction is checkout and retailer coverage, since the price can jump at purchase, price matching is inconsistent, and third party marketplace orders may not qualify for Geek Squad protection or burn in coverage. It feels like a compelling OLED deal if the listed price and warranty terms line up.

OLED shoppers who want a 65" 4K TV at a low price because commenters said the C5 is "brand new at this price" (around $1097) and that it's a "very slick deal" compared with what they previously paid for an OLED refurb.
ariusvideo JSweet404
Buyers who are comfortable buying from a legit third-party retailer because one commenter said Electronic Express is a "legit retailer" and they were "very pleased" with an OLED purchase from them in 2019.
qkumbr
People planning to buy through Best Buy specifically for easier warranty handling because a commenter said they prefer Best Buy since they've heard it's easier to deal with if warranty issues come up via Geek Squad.
Digitalism
Shoppers who want to use Best Buy reward certificates because one commenter bought the same-priced listing through Best Buy (from a third-party reseller) and noted the specific "more buying options" step to purchase.
danmoran007
OLED buyers who are okay with choosing between LG and Samsung based on price because commenters said the LG C5 and Samsung S90D/S90F compare similarly on RTINGS and they chose the LG mainly due to the sale price.
danmoran007

Buyers who need Best Buy price matching to work automatically because commenters said price matching can be denied or require the item to be "sold and shipped from the retailer," not just listed on Best Buy.
Digitalism FaithfulLlama329 Digitalism
People who rely on Walmart's Allstate protection plan for burn-in coverage because a commenter reported the plan was denied via live chat when the seller was third-party, and another said they were considering switching away from LG due to burn-in after ~6 years.
Mr.Xbox ewrjontan
Buyers who need a free wall mount included because one commenter said "No free wall mount= no dice."
Lias1017
Shoppers who want Geek Squad protection on a third-party listing because commenters said Best Buy Marketplace listings from the same retailer at the same price were "not eligible for Geek Squad protection."
FaithfulLlama329
Anyone who is trying to lock in the advertised checkout price because one commenter said the deal price changed at checkout (showed the discounted price, then came out ~$300 more plus tax).
smileybri
People who want to avoid shipping/partner-store complications because a commenter said they'd rather not deal with shipping issues and that they ordered after protection-plan denial on a third-party seller.

Common Questions (5)

Best Buy price matching requires the item to be sold and shipped by the retailer, and the Electronic Express listing has been rejected for price match. The same seller may appear in Best Buy Marketplace, but that route is not eligible for Geek Squad protection.
FaithfulLlama329 Digitalism FaithfulLlama329 danmoran007
The Walmart/Allstate plan was denied for this listing because it is a third-party seller, so coverage may not be available through that checkout path. For burn-in coverage, Geek Squad is the warranty specifically called out as covering it.
ewrjontan Mr.Xbox FaithfulLlama329
The $1,096.99 price can still be live through Best Buy's third-party seller listing, but the checkout total may jump by about $300 plus tax or later show around $1,390. It is worth rechecking the cart before paying because the displayed deal price can change.
danmoran007 smileybri
Electronic Express is described as a legit Tennessee retailer, and the same seller has been used successfully for an OLED purchase before. The TV is also shown in stock at the deal price, which supports that the listing is active.
qkumbr JSweet404
The LG C5 and Samsung S90F/S90D are described as very similar on RTINGS, so either can be a strong choice. The deciding factor here is price, and the C5 deal is attractive enough that it tipped the purchase for someone who already likes the Samsung S90D.

Website does not show the $1,097 and TV shows out of stock.

EDIT: Back up. Maybe some seller update on the site.

Wow, if you're in the market for a new TV this is an awesome deal. I bought a C3 refurb a few years ago and still paid $1300 for that. So brand new at this price for a C5 is a really great price.

Shipped and sold by Electronic Express.

Electronic Express is a legit retailer out of Tennessee. Bought my OLED from them in 2019 and was very pleased.

Tried to get Best Buy online to price match but they wouldn't. Prefer to get from Best Buy because I've heard they're easier to deal with if any warranty issues with geek squad warranty

How is Walmart Protection Plan by Allstate?
I bought Cx about 6 years ago from costco but now it's started having burn in. So I was thinking to just try Samsung this time, but this c5 deal is so good maybe I just go with LG again.

Tried as well but since it's third-party seller they denied it via live chat. In person may be a different story. Anyways. Ordered one myself. Was about to buy from the partner store deal but I'd rather not deal with shipping issues.

Electronics Express is also a 3rd party reseller at Best Buy. They have it for same price, so I purchased it from BB so i could use my reward certificates. Great deal! - Thanks OP
