If you bought this from Amazon within the last 30 days, you can get an additional $116 - $125 knocked off the price after delivery by going through the return process. You basically need to go all the way through the return process. You can list that it's still new in box and the reason for the return is found better price. There's an option to say where the better price is, but just leave it blank. Once you get to the screen where it asks how you'd like the return completed (drop off at UPS store, Kohls, or picked up for $6.99), you'll choose any of these options and you should get a pop up box saying that if you opt to keep the item, they will refund your account $116 and change. FYI.
They likely would just prefer to knock the price down a little bit and get you to keep the item than pay for shipping for a 100 lb item.
Thank you OP! I ordered last week when it was $581, but missed out on the other sales this week for $522. Ordered one today then started a customer service chat to see if they'd reimburse me the difference on my original order. They gave me back about $123 on my original order, bringing my total after tax down to about $490 (plus I'll get the 10% cash back on the Amazon card). What a crazy deal!

I wonder if you can do similar after first paying just the $522? So get it effectively for 422 or less plus tax?
This keeps going in and out of stock, so if it's showing unavailable, check again later.
I also got a refund from the 581 (plus 10% back) deal, so I got mine for around $406 before taxes. Smoking deal and a great planer.

Genius. I actually bought this item for 581$ the week before and spoke with customer service through chat for a pri e adjustment. They ask you to put the item jn the cart so they can see it and it will reflect 521$. Then they will proceed with refund of ~62$ either thru cc or gift card. Then proceed with the return as written above for even more of a deal + 10% cashback with amazon cc

Can confirm this works. I also purchased when it was $581, but contacted Amazon support after the price drop to ask about price-matching. They issued a "one-time" partial refund of $62, bringing my price down to $519. Then I initiated a return due to "better price elsewhere" and was granted an additional refund of $116. Final price was $403.
Wonder if they have fixed the offer to keep the planer if you initiate a return - I just got it delivered today after buying it at the $521 price and went through the return process, but never got the offer to keep it for a partial refund.
Can confirm in and out of stock. I delayed yesterday and it went out of stock. Checked this morning and back in stock. Pulled the trigger. I am only beginning to get into woodworking so I am not sure I need this now but I couldn't resist.
