I've never seen five guys do a promo like this before. Makes me wonder if their sales are down big time

How these "guys" stay open is a mystery to me. I never see anyone in line when I walk by the store.
Maybe your location. The Five Guys that's been open for more than 10 years, 2 miles from my house, still packs a good daily crowd every time I'm there, or when I drive by.

It's 10 dollars for a little burger in NYC. so no it's not cheap. and plenty of better burger options that are cheaper here.
$8.65 here for a little Cheeseburger, so they are $4.32 each w.coupon.

Beautiful timing... just pigged out on this deal for lunch and goodness I've missed those cajun fries more than I realized.

Is it just me or are the burgers just kind of flavorless these days?

Just tried the new Whopper yesterday courtesy of Walmart+/Amex Platinum card...it was pretty tasty, and a whole lot better than the one I had last year which was borderline inedible...bear in mind I hadn't eaten at BK in at least a decade.
Still don't think I'd pay $7.99...it didn't even have cheese!

B1G1 at 5Guys? They must be hurting for business.
Maybe a play into "Burgergate" with the Big Arch silliness.

That's not true. A McDonald's big mack is about 10$. A burger anywhere is roughly the same price. You have five guys derangment syndrome.
a big mac is about $6, which is still overpriced. 2 for $5 McDonald's double cheeseburgers is probably the best deal in fast food right now

With the coupon, around the price of an In-n-Out. Hamburger with the toppings, a decent deal, 2 for $11; $8 for 2 little burgers.
Yeah, I love an in-in-out double double animal style, but they still don't hold a candle to 5G. And we're not even going to talk about fry quality.

I'm not sure where the idea about 5G quality decline comes from; I'll grant you it's been 30 years since my first one (in Arlington, no less), but they're still pretty darned good.

Back in the day, I want to say they were around $3 for a little cheeseburger. Also back then ground beef was 1.49 a pound at retail. Now it's 9.99. I'm not saying their burger prices should be proportional, but that's a pretty massive increase. I'll admit going there solo is an expensive option, but going there as a family (of three) and sharing fries ($48 with tax in December '25) is on par with going to Wendy's and getting the main menu combos ($51 in late November '25, 3 combos, 2 child frostys). Eating out just isn't for the faint of wallet anymore.

Yep, the customization options are awesome. You can add grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, etc. --- unlimited toppings! I just skip the lettuce, following Anthony Bourdain's excellent advice, because it makes the whole thing too soggy and messy without really adding much flavor.
I still think the best burger place to date is Freddy's. They have even more toppings. Try adding Sauerkraut to your burger!
