Frequently returned item? What's up with that?

Ugh, I hate when the digital copies aren't included.

They are probably playing it on their PS5 and non 4K TV and wondering why it's very dark.

Or because these aren't good transfers. That's why they are so cheap. They didn't want to redo the special effects, so they just upscaled everything with AI. It's a joke, just like with the lord of the rings transfer.

Looks like they have the DVDs, blu rays, and 4k discs all under one listing with combined reviews, and you can't filter on a specific format. That makes it annoying to understand why the 4k discs are marked as a frequently returned item.

I guess I'll have to do my own research on the transfer quality.

This is WB. Since they enforce expiration dates, you probably couldn't redeem it anyway... ask me how I know.

I paid $4 for the 8-film Blu-Ray set at a thrift shop. Then found Sorcerer's Stone 4K for $3. Then found Deathly Hallows Part 1 & 2 in 3D for $2 each. Since there is no "wow" factor for the 4K set, I'll stick to my Blu-rays.

My understanding is that these aren't true 4K. Like many, MANY movies from this era, the original source was converted to 2K for editing purposes and everything downstream from that - including these 4K discs - are sourced from those. That goes a long way to explaining why there's not a lot of "wow" factor in this set. It will look a bit better than the Blu Rays, but not much.

Less than $10 per movie is a buy in my book.

Well at least with LOTR the audio is very good transfer ime. Now if you don't have a good proper setup, yes likely won't hear the significant difference.

Actually almost all "4k" are transferred to a form of HDR.
So what resolution a movie is shot in isn't very relevant to PQ.
How well the transfer is made is the main reason.

These movies are a perfect example.
The 1st two are true 4k(native 4k) and they didn't fair any better.

I've had issues with Amazon "4k UHD" blu ray discs before that I've returned. They'll send non 4k UHD discs in a blue case with the 4k UHD cover insert. Most 4k UHD editions come with the standard version discs as well, so they'll keep the 4k disc, return their order with only the standard version disc in a different blue case, switch the cover insert, and keep the 4k disc. They'll take the digital codes too... It's a scam.
