I have this one that stays in the truck. It works fine for popping lug nuts off on the side of the road.

I am a light DIYer, wondering to wait for a 1/2-in one or such 3/8, assuming only when on a really good sale. Although a light DIYer, I have done timing belt changes on 2 passenger cars, brakes, miscellaneous...and have been using 1/4 inch impact driver with 1/2 inch socket adapters , chrome sockets , and breaker bars

The brushed 1/2" model was on sale a couple days ago and one of the comments was to wait on the 3/8" brushless as it was more compact and also more performant. Does anyone know if this was the model?

Edit:
Found the comment from this post:

"It's OK. The Impact is adequate. The ratchet is kind of big, which might create access issues. If I was buying an impact today, I'd probably go with the 3/8" Brushless Compact. It has more torque and is much smaller. I think that impact is $99 right now. Then I'd skip the ratchet and just use a good manual one. I mean, how often are you going to be wrenching on cars?" - user TRZA

3/8 is perfect for you. 1/2 is overkill. With the 3/8 you can always use an adapter.

You'll use 3/8" 90% of the time. Save money and only get this don't even bother getting a 1/2".

Looking at other Ryobi hack threads, many have mentioned about getting there HD accounts banned/ blacklisted. So this can be risky

I agree, I have both and use the 3/8 far more often.

Who knows what HD's algorithm is. But, many have mentioned that their online accounts have been banned/blacklisted from login. Thus, unable to login account and purchase online. Not every account gets banned, and who knows if eventually.
