  • 100% recycled ripstop nylon shell and lining fabric are both treated with a durable water repellent (DWR) made without PFAS to help moisture bead up on the surface
  • 850-fill-power goose down insulation provides a high warmth-to-weight ratio that packs down easily
  • Goose down also has a DWR treatment so it repels water and dries fast to keep on insulating
  • Variable baffles map insulation to the body, providing more warmth where it's needed and reduced bulk where it's not
  • Elastic cuffs, drawcord hem and internal neck draft tube help seal in warmth
  • Center-front zipper is backed by a windflap and chin guard
  • Raglan sleeves and articulated elbows for ease of movement
  • Zippered chest pocket utilizes hybrid insulation with polyester (98% recycled) to help preserve your device's battery life in the cold
  • 2 zippered hand pockets, including one you can stow the jacket into for easy packability

I just ordered 2 700 filled Mountain Hardware jackets a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, the order cannot be canceled. I would prefer this 850 fill over the MH jackets.

Please note they also have the hoodie for the same price Magma 850 down hoodie [rei.com]

850 down is good for very cold temps. It is light weight and packable.

I had the Magma 2.0 850 for the past 6 years. My all-time favorite coat. Unreasonably warm for how light it is. I've been hoping to get a replacement as it got catastrophically ripped this season. Thank you OP.

Recycled ripstop nylon sheds more microplastics, is less durable, and is less UV resistant compared to new or virgin ripstop nylon

I have the MH jackets with hood from the recent deal. I also have this REI jacket (I own too many packable down jackets). I'd say you won't be disappointed in the MH jacket. I was surprised at its lightweight and warmth (sub freezing temps outside).

I bought one of these 2 years ago and wish I would've bought something like this 20 years ago. Can't believe I'd been without it for so long. It is so versatile and lightweight. Outside of active precipitation, this is my go to. At this price, it's a no-brainer.
