It is. Probably as close to old LP sound as you're going to get. All the Emily haters need to get over themselves

That's what I don't like about them now, they sound too much like they're trying to replicate their old sound but with the new singer who definitely sounds like she's trying too hard.

I would much rather them go in a new direction, acknowledging that not just them but the listener has changed.

I still have stacks of CDs, DVDs, and Blu-rays, but...my car can't play CDs anymore.

My PCs don't even have optical drives to rip these CDs to mp3s. I want to support the band but buying this means I have to buy an external optical drive to make the mp3s myself.

Why not at least include the option of having mp3 download? We're in 2026.

Edit: f it, bought one set. I'll borrow my uncle's computer to rip it to FLAC for my hires DAP. That should be a plus because digital download won't be as good.

Speak for yourself about change. I still get the same thrill listening to hybrid theory and meteora as I did twenty plus years ago.

Of course, I'm a literal caveman.

A lot of us still get that thrill too.
Changing the singer makes sense to change direction. Trying to replicate the old LP just isn't cutting it now. Its getting old

Emily hater here.
I can't get on board with Emily Armstrong. Let's be real: she was part of Scientology and a vocal supporter of Danny Masterson, even sending a letter to the judge during his trial. She only 'regretted' it after the public called her out once she joined Linkin Park. Then there's the family connection. Her mom is a high-ranking member of Scientology's PR machine and was involved in the harassment campaign against Cedric Bixler-Zavala and his wife, which included the killing by poisoning their dogs because they spoke out against Masterson. Theres speculation that she was in the group that poisoned the dogs. Emily still hasn't explicitly renounced her ties to the organization.
The hypocrisy of hiring a Scientologist for a band so focused on mental health, given the organization's strong opposition to psychiatry, is too much.
Coming from a family that escaped a cult, I know firsthand that 'separating' means actually cutting ties, not just staying quiet. There are dozens of singers who can nail Chester's vocals. I've seen tribute bands do it better. Why settle for someone with this much baggage? And that question has no answer that makes me like the the Emily decision. Go back to Hybrid theory when chester wasn't there and do covers of Linkin Park. Dont besmirch the Linkin Park name with her garbage.
