This is the good stuff. Need to pay more attention to the instructions to make it as good as the restaurant, but even when my lazy butt throws chicken breast, coconut milk, canned potato slices (sometimes also peas and carrots), and a couple tablespoons of this paste in a pot on a slow simmer it turns out delicious to serve over rice. And chicken is healthy.

It's pretty mild like massaman curry, but less sweet. The flavor profile is a lot different because yellow curry is more of a traditional Thai curry and massaman has more Indian spices. The massaman curry flavor profile is somewhat unique among Thai curries and so you may or may not like it.

Totally different flavor, much milder and a more earthy tumeric-y flavor than the stronger red, panang, or even massaman.
I prefer those other ones with chicken, but we make this with chickpeas, jalapenos, fried tofu, carrots, and potatoes over rice and a fried egg.

It's a good deal but not THAT good. Regular price at my local Asian grocery is $3.99 not $7+.

This wasn't a deal in the first place - you can get it from Walmart and many grocery stores for about the same price any time.

That's $9.00 more at Walmart for this S/D deal for the same size & brand, almost $6.00 more than the $7.19 regular price. This was a deal.

Why is it good? Uwajimaya or asian store sells them at $2.50 - $3.00 at a regular price.

My understanding is that massaman curry is what I use to make yellow curry. Somewhat interchangeable. I combine it with cocoanut milk to make Thai yellow curry dishes.
