As a long time Dragon Age fan, this game was a disappointment. Not for the supposed "wokeness" but from from the fact that as a sequel to Dragon Age: Inquisition, it felt nothing like it's predecessor. In fact, it felt very little like a Dragon Age game at all. You could have slapped a different name on this and it would been just another generic RPG. This felt like a half finished game that got pushed out long before it was ready.

$8 is pretty good as someone who owns this game I think it's worth it. I don't think it's amazing before people get the wrong idea but if you want something that's linear and fantasy it's not bad but if you are expecting anything from the other 3 games it won't deliver. It's not a good DA game but it's a fun fantasy game. I skip the boring or poorly written bits but I think it's worth giving a try since it's cheap though. It has fun gameplay to me at least and I liked exploring and doing the puzzles in the open areas.

It had a really bad development cycle and many people were cut before released so characters feel unfinished because of it. Also the game never had a set time to be finished so it was the best they could do in the time given apparently. It's not a terrible game but it's definitely not a good DA game. None of the DA games are alike but I do wish it leaned into DAI with the character development and the pacing.
