I have these in movies anywhere digital at 4k. The bundle was on sale at a steep discount a few months ago. This deal doesn't include digital code though.

Edit: I actually bought The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (Extended Editions Bundle) UHD, 17.99 at Fandango two years ago at the end of November (listed on Movies Anywhere as 4k), and the Hobbit extended trilogy, UHD, last November for 14.99. These both tend to go on sale around that time every year.

Extended is the way to go. Even so, lots of stuff cut from the books, or changed.

Will I buy the 4K to not watch them just like I bought the DVD and the Blu-ray to not watch? Probably.

4 hours per movie is great! Definitely love the epic; I wish it was longer.

Keep the dvd set im pretty sure not all of the extra content made it to the 4k version. I own both but I cant remember off the top of my head what got cut.
