This is a 14" OLED, Aura is a 15.3" IPS. This has an extra USB-C and micro SD slot.

The Integrated Intel Arc Graphics 140V here is a sneaky good iGPU. Combined with the 32GB of very fast RAM and this could hold its own as a mid range gaming laptop. 40fps on Baldurs Gate 3 good.

This CPU/iGPU pair is also very energy efficient. Should provide excellent performance and long battery life.

I was going to say, "this looks like an average price," then I saw it has an OLED screen.

This is a very nice package, easily worth $700. I can't really find any faults in it, as long as you want a thin-and-light, not a gaming PC. Although the 140v is definitely a capable integrated GPU, on par to 50% better than the 780m in well-supported games. It's good to see Intel improving so much over the past few years.

If you're curious, here's a good group of general benchmarks comparing the two: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Rad...598.0.html

Solid deal. The NAND crisis is only continuing to escalate with additional price increases and prospective helium shortages exacerbating the AI pricing dumpster fire. IMO, it's a good time to lock in on a laptop.

Solid deal, and yes, laptop prices are going to just go up. If you are okay with a 1200p 60hz screen, you won't do any better than this config at this price. The 258V can get up to 4,500 in Time Spy by my testing on an Asus Vivobook S 14, so many (most?) games will run 1200p at 60hz. Battery life is also going to be excellent (like double-digit hours for light tasks).

I know I'll be in the minority but this doesn't have a SD card slot and its annoying.
I have the last gen Slim 7i, but my ideapad pro 5 had a full size sd slot was great for pulling images off cameras.
Also - its worth disabling the power button on this. With it on the side you're going to hit the button a lot.

Got the last Gen of this laptop and it's a great laptop, only annoyance is that power saving makes the wifi go wonky. It can handle gaming decently tbh

I picked this up last fall when it was also posted for $700 (different seller). Amazing specs for the price. Costco had a display model I checked out first.

$699 MacBook vs this PC is crazy. Would be crazy not to get this.

I have the Ultra 7 155H variant of this model (might be last-gen), and I'm really happy with it. It's incredibly portable, and despite being only 1080p 60Hz, the screen is beautiful and accurate. Only pushing 1080p also helps it be very performant, and I'm able to do some light gaming, and even edit videos in Davinci Resolve easily
