If you need a chainsaw now, buy it at $250. It's a solid homeowner saw (storm cleanup, limbs, small trees).

If you're patient, Ryobi Days (May–June) sometimes gets close to $200 effective price with battery promos.

I've got the 14 and 20 inch versions of these. You might not be able to go all day on a tree crew with these, but they handle some pretty big stuff. I've had no complaints in 3 years that wasn't me doing dumb things.

Is this summary accurate? Searching on slickdeals I can't find any comparable deals for <$200

If you already have a couple 40v batteries this thing is real handy, but chews through power fast. It's nice to just plug it in and go.

Have the 14" version, does well for homeowner use.
