About the Game
This is hands down one of my favorite games of all time. Heroes of Might & Magic III is an absolute legendary classic that defined turn-based strategy for an entire generation. I must have lost count of the sleepless nights spent fighting Black Dragons and Archangels, Demons and Necromancers.
The most popular Heroes title of all time is back in HD! Fifteen years later, rediscover the epic tale of Queen Catherine Ironfist as she embarks on her quest to unite her ravaged homeland and re-conquer the kingdom of Erathia.
This is a turn-based strategy classic originally released in February 1999, now with updated graphics and widescreen compatibility.
Features
• HD Experience: Updated graphics with widescreen compatibility
• Classic Gameplay: 7 campaign scenarios, around 50 skirmish maps, local multiplayer, and map editor
• Online Multiplayer: Steamworks-compatible online lobby to play with the community
Community Notes
At $3.74, this matches the all-time low price. Perfect time to replay this masterpiece or introduce it to someone new. The game still maintains a healthy player base with around 1,500 monthly average players.
The HD treatment makes it feel fresh on modern monitors while keeping everything that made the original magical. For less than the price of a coffee, you get 24,000+ positive reviews worth of classic turn-based strategy goodness.
Important Caveats
• This HD version does NOT include the "Armageddon's Blade" and "Shadow of Death" expansions from the original Complete Edition
• Some purists prefer the original GOG version with all expansions, but for modern widescreen support, this is the way to go
• Steam Deck is marked as "Playable" (some functionality may not be fully supported)
System Requirements
• OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
• Processor: Intel Core2 Duo E4400 @ 2.0 GHz or equivalent
• Memory: 2 GB RAM
• Graphics: nVidia GeForce 8800GT or AMD Radeon HD2900
• DirectX: Version 10
