This would be a good deal if the wage in my state was at least $17.84/hr. Back when footlongs were $0.49, the minimum wage was $1.25

I thought it was funny that Ireland had subways. Honestly, it was one of my better meals there. They still call them foot longs over there too.

That was 12 years ago... and they discontinued it because franchise owners were hemorrhaging money on the promotion due to rising costs. For the record, most footlong subs prior to the promotion starting in '08 were $6 or more. The recession was literally the main reason why they ran it.
