Tempted to get the 15000 lm one on sale from $120 to $30. My only reservation is having the built-in battery.

Once that fails it's surgery or trash.

Surprising for a big light, i would expect they have enough room to make it move more than smaller lights. Their small adjustable focus lights have same problem. Not enough narrow focus beam.
My brain doesn't really get optics, but my understanding is that there is a loss of overall output involved. Might present some problems with the advertised lumens or something.

And as we all know from SD, <100,000 lumens = "such trash".

I wonder if this battery is the same as two 18650 stacked, if it would fit?
It's the size of 9 AAA's, which it can also use.

May be store dependent but I've tried and been denied
Thx for the reply, appears cpu system would def allow it. However customer service knows this, so like you said it is up to each individual employee, how nice they're feeling that day.

Anyone with experience about how warm this lamp gets? Seems like it would be drawing about 40 watts(!) at full brightness though certainly that 8,000 lumens rating could be very optimistic. Otherwise, the materials and performance for the price seem solid.

Good luck!

Most around me were gone (damn resellers!), but I managed to snag one.

Very well built, all metal, super heavy duty, but not too heavy. Display is nice, VERY bright, especially in turbo. Like others have stated, can't focus beam much. Basically just flood.

Overall a steal at $20.

Hopefully the proprietary battery holds up long term. They do sell a cartridge that holds 9 AAA batteries in the event of failure, although you can't use turbo with the AAA batteries.

You'd only need about 3 times as many AAA batteries to try and draw 40W from alkaline cells. LMAO

Good luck!

I was lucky enough to snag one of these today. I ran it on "high" (not turbo) for about 20 minutes and it didn't get hot at all. Mildly warm is how I'd describe it. I am really surprised at the quality of this light and think it's a steal for $20.
Compared to other 2000 lumen lights that I have, it seems every bit of 8000 lumens. It gets VERY bright. I'm sure the 8000 claim is when in Turbo mode, which only lasts for a bit less than one minute. I'm shocked at how bright the High mode is (probably 4000 lumens) and I'm amazed that it can last for 3 hours at that setting.
I imagine that you could use this alone for home defense, as any intruder would most likely be blinded by it.
If you have a chance to grab one, it's a no brainer. If it doesn't somehow meet/exceed your expectations, you can always return it.
