Unless, you're someone technical who plans to upgrade the RAM and SSD vs someone just looking for a very basic laptop, an ASUS Chromebook Plus is actually a better choice at this price point in my opinion.

I've mentioned this before on here, but the reality is that almost all laptop brands have their machines designed and made for them by a few ODMs (original design manufacturers), and brands typically use more than one ODM. Every brand name therefore has some variability - some lines are better than others within a brand, but overall, each brand that you've heard of is, on average, of about the same quality, and a particular laptop from one company may have more in common with another company's laptop (if they used the same ODM), than with other lines in the same company (if they used different ODMs).
Bottom line is there are very good and less good laptops from every brand.
This laptop is a good deal for its price. It's upgradeable, and more than sufficient for what 95% of people do 95% of the time on a laptop. It's also easy to pick up USB-C adapters that will allow you to charge the laptop via USB-C. Here's a two-pack for $7.99:

I know a lot of people don't like the barrel chargers and prefer USB-C, but speaking as someone with a wife and 4 kids, USB-C chargers get moved and go missing all the time. So no USB-C charging is a plus to me!
