do they ask for original receipt or just the LSA member number?
I just had to look up the info on the registration site. I did not have a receipt, although at some point they started allowing you to upload a copy of the receipt during the registration process. However, it's not a requirement.
Once the tool is registered I have not needed the receipt again for warranty repairs. But I usually upload the receipt on registration.
For some reason I couldn't log in to my LSA account and they couldn't find it, so they had to create a new one for me and manually enter all my tool serial numbers even without receipt. Good to know they won't check for receipts for warranty

Best to hold onto your receipts, at least a digital copy. I've read stories where some snafu on their backend ended up deleting receipts, and customers were pissed about having to go through some major hassle to get the LSAs again.
