Stay strong, slickdealers! Big grill brush is trying to trick us into buying this 😭 for those who successfully avoided buying this yesterday.

I'm skeptical of these. Can anyone that have one vouch for it?

Someone posted the Smarter Everyday brush in the thread yesterday, but it's like my brain refuses to buy things at retail now. I need the rush of a "deal." This Michael F guy mentioned in the reviews on JJGeorgestore https://www.jjgeorgestore.com/the...mprovement.
"I'll always try to buy American first, and I really appreciated what Destin was trying to do, but the product does have some short-comings. The scrubber is built well and feels solid in your hand, but in order to use it effectively, it's really a two-hand operation. Your dominant hand, positioned near the end, grips the tool conformably, but your second hand, gripping further down the handle, is holding a 'u'-shaped handle, which is a very uncomfortable. In addition, where[sp] the chainmail won't splinter like a wire brush, it is also very ineffective for cleaning between the grates, necessitating keeping a second tool handy to thoroughly clean the entire grilling surface. I was disappointed, too, when I emailed my concern/suggestion to JJGeorge and never received a reply, not even a confirmation or a 'canned' response acknowledging my feedback. There's always room for improvement."
I like the Smarter Everyday channel, and I like the sound of USA made, but $74.99 for a grill brush that doesn't come with any refills is iffy. The rubber(?) thing inside the chain mail might burn if you had an flare up (unless people are only cleaning their grills when cold). But I figure most people clean their grills by just letting it burn everything and then scratching off the remains off the grates.

I've got one. I'd say it works very well. I have a slotted grill top (as opposed to a flat solid griddle), so I still need to flip it over and clean off hardened drippings on the underside, but it works as advertised. Much better than a wire brush and my muscle although very, very strong as they are.

Haha yeah. You'll still need to scrap the corners angles where the steam/brush can't make contact, but otherwise it does work.

These operate on the same idea as "deglazing" a pan after searing a steak. A cold wet sponge will pull the debris off the grates, while also steaming because the water will evaporate.

Really the quality of the sponge will matter for durability

doesn't clean as well as my bristled brush
you use the scraper to clean off the debris caked on the grate
then you use the sponge to clean off the grease and/or loose stuff
maybe i'll use my bristled brush to scrub the grate clean then use the sponge to get the remaining (and hopefully any loose bristles stuck on the grate) loose stuff off

got the bbq daddy from costco as i was tired of all these brushes breaking off, wires everywhere and it cleans ok, it's hard to get the stuff inbetween as i have pyramid grates not flat. the bbq daddy also is a pyramid shape and it's awkward to hold and feels like the brush head is going to come off, its all wonky and silly. very unhappy.

look.. $10 for 3 brushes and the brush itself. And it is 19.99 for 6 brushes. I would think I would go through one brush a grill season... and then what, put it into your dishwasher?
