Yes, the 2nd Generation was released within the past year. The main thing is the Ultra Wide Band (UWB) has been extended so that you can start using the Precision Tracking from farther away (assuming your iPhone iOS supports this new feature). It also has a louder speaker and longer Bluetooth range.
It's probably not worth it to upgrade from Gen1 to Gen2, unless you really need these new features. Gen1 at this price is definitely a bargain, if you're in the market.

Thanks OP! I have a non-apple tracking device that was $3. It seems to work OK but always wanted to compare to the original and this is a great opportunity.
Show "Low Stock" when I ordered.
