They definitely aren't for lighting up a room, they're mood lighting. The kind of thing you might have in a dark restaurant or cocktail lounge on every table, so you can read your menu and see your food while only lighting up your tabletop. I already used one this morning, I like to have a cup of coffee and watch a little TV or read before I leave for work, which at this time of year is before sunrise. It was nice to just put on this very gentle light rather than the other much brighter lights as the sun came up. I guess I'll see over time if having to always remember to recharge it proves to be too annoying.

When it gets dark outside, my office light isn't the greatest, so I usually abandon work*. Now I don't have an excuse.
