Why does it say 45.49 on Walmart? Says that price can reflect a 90 day average median price. Doesn't make this deal too crazy

Not really, most of the higher end chargers use two major ODM and anker is not what they used to be. Ugreen (public traded) and baesus (private) are two readily available in the US competitors that have very good products. You can see anker isnt really all the special in tear downs and use cheaper components like other cheaper brands. https://overengineer.dev/blog/202...b-madness/

A big US brand can also bring UL listings and if cases of fire, your insurance and investigators will def go after them if their devices caused the fire.

The main differences are in efficiency (and therefore how hot it gets) and how close it gets to doing what it says it can do. Most of the cheaper ones that claim 100 watt won't always get there, especially if you connect multiple devices at once. Here's a video comparing them

Both of my baseus chargers have overheated and melted themselves within warranty. They just sent another for free, which did the same thing. Guess it's hard to beat the value of two self-separating halves of two chargers for half the price of one actually good one, but it still gives me the spooks.

Anker is superior to the other common US Amazon brands (baseus and Ugreen). I'd say the order is Anker>UGreen>Baseus. I have chargers from all 3 and that is my experience. This is a decent price for this brick. I use it for steam deck and my laptop. Very efficient. Doesn't heat up much. And I trust Anker to manager the output to not fry my equipment.

I have the 60-watt version of this and you would not believe how hot it gets charging a 45w laptop. Like I ended up buying a different one and I just have this one as a backup. Would not recommend.

Edit: I thought it was a 60-watt version but it *is* the same one. Yeah, it gets remarkably hot.
