With that thin bezel, how can it be 17.3" wide with a 15.6" diagonal screen? The diagonal should longer than the width!

I have this one. Perfect portable monitor. I use it plugged into my phone and works very well. It will power the monitor from your phone, but at a reduced brightness. Power the monitor from the wall and you get full power plus charging your plugged in device. I WOULD suggest getting it from the Acer official ebay store. SAME unit, with a 2yr Allstate warranty.

Wasn't the only complaint that it's fragile and dim? Not expecting OLED for $45 though. Good to know a phone can power it.

A bit less weight, and this is cheaper than a laptop so if it gets lost/stolen it's not as huge of a loss.
  • use the screen for multiple devices or secondary monitor
  • not being locked to just landscape
  • smaller devices than a laptop can use it

We've seen so many of these portable monitors on sale. Hard to know which ones are the best. Do they come in OLED and 4K, with stereo speakers?
they do and even touch/stylus support ( depending on OS )

let your usecase define best or else you'll over pay in the portable monitor space.

If you have to lug a screen and a keyboard, why not just use a laptop?
I don't have one of these but I do have a similar monitor. Sometimes it comes in handy if you're using a laptop to work with somebody else at the same time, or a group. I don't use it often but it does come in handy sometimes.

If you can get by with 13.3, $100 OLED new. Not a jaw dropping price based on historical, but I see them for $80 - 85 sometimes direct from INNOCN.

It doesn't come as a surprise that it's fragile. It's a 15" LCD monitor. How durable should it be?

These are decent, I've used them before. Expect them to act like a $40 screen tho

Frequently returned doesn't mean a product isn't worth it. From reading Amazon and non-amazon reviews it seems like a mismatch of expectations, like gaming due to refresh rate or relying on the lacking speakers. The majority of people I see discussing it are satisfied.

It was just an option for someone humorously lamenting the ACER not being OLED at $45. Know your use case is the same advice I said in my previous comment.

Had a portable monitor for many years now and the prices are getting so low. So many uses that are not obvious to someone who hasn't owned one before. Work travel, lugging into receivers, preparing talks/lessons when not at my desk, etc. Good name with decent specs. Thx!

Can you use this monitor in portrait mode? The kickstand looks like horizontal-only.
Well yes. If on laptop just change orientation in settings
