the price of the 9850x3d is always just $20-30 more than the 9800x3d.. is it not worth an upgrade or what?
The 9850x3d is ~3-5% 'faster' in games which is what you're likely most interested in if you're buying it. It's 7% faster in single threaded applications. The $20 delta here represents ~2.7% increase between the 2 bundles. So, I think it's worth it, but we're not talking a massive leap. You can sleep well knowing you are getting $20's worth of improvement, in my humble opinion.

as someone that builds PCs all day this is some decent hardware for the $ for sure. Assuming you live close to Microcenter and it's in stock. (Large assumptions I know) it's a no frills setup but it will get the job done! Just remember your not going to see huge gains at 1440P and 4K with an X3D chip despite what all the "Professionals Say" I have seen 9700Xs with same hardware go toe to toe with X3Ds at higher resolutions... just saying. There are very affordable 9700X Bundles as well.

disable memory integrity in Windows and you get a bigger boost than the 9850 gets over the 9800 😂
I feel like buying two of these, keeping the ram, and returning/reselling the rest is a good deal in this market if I just need the damn ram. /s I'm not trying

9800x3d = no frills setup? How many all days have you spent building PCs?
