I bought 6 of these lights back in 2023 for uplighting, these work great on cream colored brick year round in Michigan

Yes, XL is much better for that. It can light up the side of a house 20' up. The regular Lily can kinda-sorta put some light on a wall but really is better for highlighting something like a single bush/small tree or other smaller feature..
