I was definitely in this camp until one day my S24 Ultra port kept giving the little water droplet warning. It turns out my charging port needed to be replaced to the tune of $271.88 at Ubreakifix.($50 deductible with AMEX cellphone insurance.) So my current phone(s) get a mix of wireless and wired to minimize port wear. Overnight gets the stand, quick charges get the wire.

Let my mistakes save you from making the same.

I heard they got banned from Amazon due to fake reviews. I am still using their products and been solid.

Convenience..... just like in the car or on the go. Why wear out the phone jack? Why have a loose cord laying around on your desk, getting in your paperwork?

Speed is of little importance to me when I'm gonna be in one place for 8+ straight hours.

Aukey is still a company? Used to love their products after Anker got a bit expensive. Now I'm just getting Lisen or Anker

I can sort of understand wireless charging in the car or on the go....but at home or a desk that literally has a USB-C plug going into it? Use a less efficient, heat generating slower tech than a cable thats already there and takes 2 seconds to plug in? I don't get it.

Still decent but yeah they mostly disappeared because of their Amazon ban.

To which I would reply what company isn't getting a bunch of fake reviews on Amazon every product you pull up is a four-star rating

Personally I would rather have cable hidden on the ground than the wireless charger taking up space and kind of distracting.

Not sure why you're getting the thumbs down. A cheap wireless charger is what I use since the USB C port in my Motorola started having issues, but there's life left in the phone. It's just good sense.

dang, that almost happened to me with my iPhone while I was travelling! it was in my suitcase next to gel deodorant and due to the pressure differential, the gel oozed out and got into the charging port of my iPhone. I tried everything to remove the goop, but it kept giving me the water droplet warning like you. eventually, like a week later it went away. farking bogus. since then, I use those dust shields in my port and go wireless as well, unless I'm in a hurry and need to fast charge via USB-C.
