pro tip: use a cardboard tube from the inside of a paper towel roll. If it needs to be longer, use one from the center of Christmas wrapping paper. FREE

Most shop vac hoses are too big. The outer diameter I think on this hose is 0.73 in. which can let you really get into the cavity where the lint trap goes, and also make the bend so that the hose can also get into the opening/hole that connects the lint cavity with the exhaust pipe that's inside the dryer. The good is that the hose is easily maneuverable in that small space. The bad is that the hose clogs easily, and you'll have to unclog it a few times if there's quite a bit of large chunks of lint. Also the worst part for me at least is that since the hose is so small in diameter, running vacuum air through the hose causes a really loud, high pitched whistle. On mine, I actually wear ear plugs while I clean the trap out.

good price but you should really buy one with the long brush stick. The suction from a vac won't be strong enough to get the lint that is attached to the inside of the dryer. You need to use the brush first to scrap the lint off then use a vac to suck the lint out.

Those cardboard tubes tend to collapse pretty quickly under vacuum suction. You'll get some lint out, but to thoroughly get more lint out (and really protect the dryer vents from buildup) you need a slim tube.

They've always done just fine for me regardless of how they fold or bend. I use paper towel from Costco (Kirkland) so maybe it depends on the quality of the tube.

It may be a pain but if you can get to the back of your dryer you should be able to remove the dryer vent pipe most likely behind a small panel on the dryer. I had way more lint in the hose that runs from the back of the dryer and the outside vent.

I bought one of the previous deals that also came with the brush. This vacuum attachment is awesome. It was amazing how much lint I got out and it was an ASMR moment. Well worth it, and like others have said, it also is useful to get the fridge coils and other tight spots.
