pro tip: use a cardboard tube from the inside of a paper towel roll. If it needs to be longer, use one from the center of Christmas wrapping paper. FREE

good price but you should really buy one with the long brush stick. The suction from a vac won't be strong enough to get the lint that is attached to the inside of the dryer. You need to use the brush first to scrap the lint off then use a vac to suck the lint out.

Check your vent first. Might not need this and just need to clean the outside vent door

You attach this to the Shopvac hose because this has a smaller diameter and can fit further down inside the dryer vent access.

It's junk. If you have a basic vacuum with attachments, it's basically the same thing

Most shop vac hoses are too big. The outer diameter I think on this hose is 0.73 in. which can let you really get into the cavity where the lint trap goes, and also make the bend so that the hose can also get into the opening/hole that connects the lint cavity with the exhaust pipe that's inside the dryer. The good is that the hose is easily maneuverable in that small space. The bad is that the hose clogs easily, and you'll have to unclog it a few times if there's quite a bit of large chunks of lint. Also the worst part for me at least is that since the hose is so small in diameter, running vacuum air through the hose causes a really loud, high pitched whistle. On mine, I actually wear ear plugs while I clean the trap out.

Much smaller to get into the vent below the lint filter, more flexible to follow curves, and softer so it reduces chances of scratching. Can you live without it? Sure. Is it handy? Yes.
I've also used ours (attached to my shop vac) to pull network cable through 150' of buried pvc conduit.

Temu is cheaper. It works but it's cheap made.

If you have a skinny long attachment, you don't have a need for this. This would be for people who want to use their normal vacuum with this attachment to clean the vent.

Exactly. I have found it helpful. Got tired of opening the dryer to use my hands to pull out the lint. This is better than simple cleaning the lint trap, too.

I bought the one that came with the long brush for $7.98 last October that was posted here on SD. Fortunately, my Bosch cordless vacuum was able to suck out the lint without the use of the brush. It's good to have for sure.

Thanks for explaining, y'all - definitely makes sense that it's smaller for this task
