This dryer vent cleaner kit is mainly valued for its slim, flexible hose that reaches deep into the lint trap area and tight bends where standard vacuum attachments cannot fit. It can pull out a surprising amount of lint, improve airflow, and even help with other hard to reach spots like fridge coils or under furniture. The included brush and vacuum combo is often described as more useful than suction alone. Fit can be finicky on some vacuums, and the narrow hose may clog, whistle loudly, or feel too flimsy for heavy buildup.

Common Questions (5)

  • It can pull out a lot of lint and improve airflow, with some users reporting faster drying afterward. It also has reported drawbacks: the hose can clog with large lint chunks, whistle loudly, or fail to seal well enough to pick up lint in some setups.

  • Yes. The attachment is smaller and more flexible than typical shop vac hoses, so it can reach further down into the lint trap area and around bends. It is especially useful when standard crevice tools or larger hoses cannot get into the vent cavity.

  • It mainly cleans the lint trap area and nearby dryer cavity, and it can remove a surprising amount of lint there. For the full exhaust path, the outside vent, and long vent runs, a drill-brush kit or other vent-cleaning method may still be needed.

  • It can, if your vacuum has enough suction and the lint has already been loosened. The brush is still useful for scraping lint off the dryer interior first, because suction alone may not remove lint that is stuck to the inside surfaces.

  • No. It works with some vacuums like Shop-Vac, Shark, Bosch cordless, and LG setups, but it may not fit or stay on every vacuum without being held in place. Some users also report it does not fit their Shark vacuum at all.

Check your vent first. Might not need this and just need to clean the outside vent door
Disconnect your vent hose, shove your leaf blower in it (the external vent hose), and give the trigger a few good squeezes. I do it as part of my spring\fall cleanup when i'm walking around with the leef blower anyway.
As for the inside of the dryer, ehh, i have a samsung so am replacing a belt every year like it or not and just do a good job when i have the cover off of cleaning up inside.

They've always done just fine for me regardless of how they fold or bend. I use paper towel from Costco (Kirkland) so maybe it depends on the quality of the tube.
Or the quality of the suction your vacuum creates. Mine worked fine for a little bit with the cardboard tube, but it would collapse shortly after.

Thanks, grabbed one. Wish they made them in clear plastic so you could see how much your picking up.

Noob here. For long term dryer maintenance- does one need to just keep up with cleaning the opening and going deep inside under the lint trap or do we need to open up and do the same with the external vent pipe as well?

You should do both. And when you push it back in place try to avoid sharp bends in the vent pipe. This will often cause lint to catch and build up. Also a good idea to check your outside vent. Most have a grate to prevent animals from crawling in but they also catch lint over time.

But also learn from my fail. If your vent pipe inside the wall is soft and not a metal pipe, don't get one of those drill brushes. I did and it tore right through it. Had to cut the drywall out and replace it, but made it a solid metal pipe this time. Silver lining is the existing one was badly clogged so prevented a potential fire hazard.

pro tip: use a cardboard tube from the inside of a paper towel roll. If it needs to be longer, use one from the center of Christmas wrapping paper. FREE
I just tried this "pro tip" and my vacuum just collapsed the cardboard paper towel roll.

Hah just used this with my shop vac, it got pretty deep inside and I never realized the amount of lint in there.. my dryer is actually drying clothes a little quicker.

Bought something like this last time... Works pretty good, doesn't fit or stay on all vac without holding it in place. For most dryers it works pretty well, the hose could be a little smaller at the end and more flexible to bend more to get into the dryer vent.

I like that it's long to get under furniture, behind dryers etc. Just with one vac I have to have someone hold the vac head, while I move the hose around to get into all the corners etc.

This may be worth the extra $2. Higher rated, extra brush.

brush I have from a previous deal, works ok but gets lint everywhere. The vac use more as it sucks everything up. the brush might be good if you see inside a pipe and loosen up dust surrounding a pipe etc.
