pro tip: use a cardboard tube from the inside of a paper towel roll. If it needs to be longer, use one from the center of Christmas wrapping paper. FREE

Most shop vac hoses are too big. The outer diameter I think on this hose is 0.73 in. which can let you really get into the cavity where the lint trap goes, and also make the bend so that the hose can also get into the opening/hole that connects the lint cavity with the exhaust pipe that's inside the dryer. The good is that the hose is easily maneuverable in that small space. The bad is that the hose clogs easily, and you'll have to unclog it a few times if there's quite a bit of large chunks of lint. Also the worst part for me at least is that since the hose is so small in diameter, running vacuum air through the hose causes a really loud, high pitched whistle. On mine, I actually wear ear plugs while I clean the trap out.

good price but you should really buy one with the long brush stick. The suction from a vac won't be strong enough to get the lint that is attached to the inside of the dryer. You need to use the brush first to scrap the lint off then use a vac to suck the lint out.

I have this setup bought like 10 years ago so it def works and I use it for more than just lint, sometimes in the car and other areas that are hard to reach. The paper towel roll cant really do those other things.

I tried that also, didn't work. Guess my vacuum really sucks!

I have to pull out the wire brush on the ones I clean. It'll just kick it out once you dislodge it but I also put the standard vac to the grill when brushing it. If putting the vac to the outside of the grille doesn't pull it off you'll need the brush.
