I have a Ninja Foodi 4-1 grill that I've been using for air frying, but it doesn't have a dehydrate function and only goes down to 250°F. I need something that can go lower to dry off homemade jerky when I pull it from the freezer. Plus, I decided I want to go back to a single handle basket air fryer. They're just easier to shake and empty.
After studying several brands of single basket air fryers, and watching tons of YouTube videos I narrowed it down to two, the Cosori Turboblaze 6 qt, and the Ninja Air Fryer Pro XL 6.5 qt 7-in-1 Max Crisp. They are both are large capacity high watt 450° air fryers with square baskets. I love that both can fit disposable 8"x8" aluminum pans for things that are extra messy, although the Cosori's interior is a little wider at about 9 1/2" square v.s. the Ninja's 8 1/2" square basket. The Ninja basket is a little taller than the Cosori which may allow hot air to move better. They both use ceramic coated crisping plates, which is good, no Teflon. I bought both machines and plan to keep the winner and give the other to family.
If cost is the issue, Sam's Club has the Midea HeatXpress™ 7.8 qt. Basket Air Fryer for $44.87 on Instant Save right now https://www.samsclub.co
Update: I just received the Cosori in the mail. This thing is beautifully designed. It's whisper quiet on dehydrate, you can't hear the fan. I think both have a DC motor, but the Ninja is known to be loud. The louder fan may help with crisping though, but I have to say I think the Cosori is a 10 so far.
Just received the Ninja. I don't love the sound of the Ninja's fan, but a more powerful fan may cook better. The Cosori is very attractive in every way, but Ninja is too, but a little more conservative looking in my opinion, which I like. I'm leaning towards keeping the Ninja, I'm not sure why, but it's basically a tossup. It will come down to the french fry test. At t his point both are really nice air fryers. The Cosori is a lot cheaper too at $79 sale so if you're trying to spend less than $100 it's the Cosori. Ninja charges too much IMO, I guess because they can.
