Please explain. My V2's still work exactly as they did when I bought them several years ago. So NOT bricked and 100% usable.

Not going to buy Wyze after they started bricking their older hardware to not be useable anymore.

Same here. Have a dozen v2s and v3s that still work. I've got a few v1s but lower res so I don't use them anymore.

I think maybe they're taking about the very first cam that they couldn't fix some vulnerability. I had a few of them and they're also like 10 years old with pretty bad resolution. I have a few v2s that are pretty good, curious what the v4 improvements are.

Recently picked up one of these. Set up was a breeze and quality is great. Camera controls using the app are a little wonky, but works well enough. Love the motion tracking.

I get that, but it was pretty general and vague comment. That all said, I have a couple on V4's myself and I like them! The viewing interface in the app is different from previous cams, but still has the same functionality. The built-in spotlight is nice, where the V3 it was an add-on accessory with a special splitter cable that was the weak point and you couldn't buy a replacement anywhere when (not if) it failed. Also better 2.5k resolution opposed to 1080p of the previous cams, at least V2/3. Better sound pickup as well. Lastly while still operating on 2.4gHz WiFi, it does support Wi-Fi 6 which is nice. Still uses a micro USB interface though, I guess the training is so it'll literally be plug and play if replacing an older version camera, your won't need to run a new cable. Logical, but go USB -C and offer an adapter, literally like a buck more that no one would squawk about.

My experience with these is just gradually getting worse since I bought my second camera. Even without a subscription, recording to a local SD card, performance of the app is abysmal just trying to watch a live stream or recording. Recurring dark patterns putting you in the loop to buy the cloud subscription.

My experience with these was horrible I bought two of them and couldn't get either one to stay set up. I spent hours on the phone with their tech support and dozens and dozens of emails back and forth and sending log report never had a problem with any of their cameras before these. Needles to say I returned them.

Bought a V3 back in 2024 on $24 slickdeal sale and I have had no issues with them. Used as a doggie cam.

ok, like others, my v3 still work ok. I am using tinycam Pro on my firetv's and it works ok. I set one of my 32 inch 1080p insignia fire tv on the tinycam pro,and leave it on just that page, all day, to watch anything thing around my place.
I didn't get this v4 yet, but guys did you look at the amazon reviews on it. Terrible, really bad.

Sounds like community is trashing this product, could be backlash from other issues wyze has had the last couple of years. Personally I don't know. Just research it, and if you do get it, share your experience with this v4.

UPDATE: I found a pro review on Youtube with LIFEHACKER (guy... I love his reviews because he compares so many of them using the exact same routine ... so you can compare how different cams really are under the same conditions. He seems to like the camera. Lately I have been into TAPO brand, but still use my regular v3's with no subscription with tinycam PRO app.

Wyze Camers suck. I have around 20 and they are mega slow sometimes when you to access them. Between instant and 20 seconds. Tapo seems much faster and also provides RTSP which Wyze discontinued with V3.
