Adidas Terrex Anylander Mid Rain.Rdy hiking shoes come across as a lightweight, comfortable option with solid traction for walking, travel, and casual outdoor use. The cushioning gets praise for all day wear, including long travel days and wide feet, and the outsole is described as supportive and grippy. Rain.Rdy waterproofing is presented as good for keeping feet dry, though it is treated as a step below GORE TEX. Durability is the main concern, with some pairs holding up well and others falling apart early, so this feels like a practical midrange pick if you want comfort and weather protection more than premium build.
Common Questions (4)
Durability reports are mixed: one pair with roughly 300 hiking miles still had strong Continental grip and stayed comfortable after break-in, while another report says two pairs fell apart before 100 miles. Other uses like disc golf, travel, and winter snow were described as holding up well.
RAIN.RDY is a waterproof adidas membrane with taped seams, but it is the lower-tier waterproofing compared with GORE-TEX. GORE-TEX is described as better for harsher conditions and easier to clean, while RAIN.RDY is positioned more for casual rain and hiking.
They're reported as lightweight and comfortable, with enough room for a wide foot when sizing up. One use case covered 20,000 steps a day while traveling with no ankle or foot soreness.
No quick-lace system is mentioned for this model, and one practical complaint is that it would be better with one. Expect standard lacing instead.

mine are made with gore-tex... and Addidas now make cheap versions that do not use gortex and of course these are a pair of them.
new adidas Terrex models are still made with GORE-TEX (GTX), though adidas now offers several different types of waterproofing depending on the specific shoe.
While GORE-TEX remains their premium waterproofing for high-performance hiking and trail running, you will also see RAIN.RDY and Climaproof used on their more entry-level or lifestyle-focused outdoor gear.
I don't think you can talk about your shoes and relate them to this since Adidas started to make these entry-level or lifestyle-focused outdoor gear that use cheaper material such as RAIN.RDY vs gore-tex
Just want to add that you have a "gortex" version... this is a RAIN.RDY version. Gortex is MUCH better.

Both versions, however, used the "Boost" midsole that makes them so comfortable (and which is not used in the lower-tier sorta-lookalikes such as the Anylander).
I have both the low and mid versions of the GTX, love them, have also used them for traveling. One other thing I really like about the GTX is, the Gore-Tex makes them very easy to clean and keep looking new.
FWIW, you can get this same shoe from the OP in a different color, also from adidas through their ebay store, for $52.80 with the current coupon active there:
