Good promo. Given my usage of GPT Codex 5.2, Gemini 3.0 Pro, and Sonnet 4.6, I've felt that Sonnet always performed the best with the least amount of compilation errors. Sometimes I try tailoring the prompt for the other models and they still fall on their head over and over again simply because they don't seem to be trained on coding as much as Sonnet has. They still fall behind when automating menial tasks like testing and require several prompts just to try and catch up to what Sonnet can do with one prompt.

I have heard garbage about code generators since 1980. But Claude seems to be the real deal. For stealing work that accomplished programmers have made available. And maybe work from programmers with lesser skills. But you can trust the "AI" to verify the code, right?

I have lived in all areas of the programming domain, but I always gravitate to the embedded side. I suspect that the "AI" agents can produce acceptable code in this field, but I don't think the results will be thrilling. I challenge "AI" to produce RISCV assembly code better than mine.

But if I want (why?) Ecmascript or web-assembly for some web page, I would probably trust Claude to do the filthy work.
Brilliant, I was just going to ask if anyone would quick challenge "AI" to a contest and low key brag about their coding prowess rather than chiming in on the quality of the deal itself.

Im just honored to share a vBulletin thread with such a dominant force in the software industry.

What's your plan when AI takes your job?

For my use cases gemini and codex often fail on tasks where opus succeeds. Opus was 10x more expensive from number of prompts perspective, so this will only make it 5x more expensive. Smilie

If you're a software developer who thinks your job is just writing code, you deserve to be replaced by AI.

As for the deal, it's OK. Claude is already congested during 9-5 so you might as well shift your usage later. Either way they're trying to get you used to spending more tokens but not cost them more.

Just use the same logic, if you are not as smart nor as hard working than the Chinese, you deserve to lose the job and let the Chinese to produce these products for us to enjoy a good life with minimal cost. It sounds harsh, but that's just the truth. If you think otherwise, you know you are brainwashed.

Banks are starting to use AI tools to convert COBOL. ...
Will AI write RISCV code better than yours? Maybe not... But can it reduce a team of 10 to a team of 4 or 5? Already happened.
