I have never paid full price. Sign up for half price. Let it expire, then they will offer you another year at the reduced price.

What makes them any different than Amazon? The problem is that you seem to be out of the loop. You don't need to pay a fee to shop at Walmart! You're paying a flat fee (which is far less than Amazon), in order to get unlimited free deliveries (otherwise, you're compelled to spend $35 or pay a delivery fee)....and if you're within a certain distance to a Walmart store or warehouse, you may qualify for free same-day deliveries. Those are the basic benefits to having the subscription. There are additional benefits as well.
You're not obligated.
Regardless, Walmart is more reliable than Amazon these days, since Amazon makes delivery promises that they often don't keep (since they're mostly dysfunctional)!

I have Amazon Prime, and Walmart+. I find myself using Walmart+ more than Amazon Prime. Walmart is much more reliable than Amazon. The days of next day delivery from Amazon is way gone. Walmart is able to get a lot of the items to me the same day of the order. Their delivery system is faster and more reliable. Plus the fact they use FedEx for a lot of their items.

If someone's membership expires later in the year and tries this and it works let me know.

Do most of your orders come by mail or is it by Spark drivers?

Why did we let companies start charging a fee to shop at their stores

Because it covers shipping on just about everything and someone will even come to my house to pick up my returns.

Seems like a pretty fair deal at the discounted rate.

I get my 50 bucks back just in $0.10 off of diesel. Walmart is already one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest, for diesel around here. The only downside is their pumps max out at $150 so I have to do two transactions to fill up sometimes. With the diesel discount paying the $50 annual membership, everything else I use it for is just extra.

This worked for me and I was already on the $49.00 offer from last year. OP is correct, shows as soon as you hit cancel, but obviously YMMV. If you don't see it now, I would just wait til closer to when your membership expires.
