Not too familiar with Staples Rewards. Basically I get $100 worth of points in my account that can later be used for ANYTHING? How long before the rewards appear and are usable?

Also, this printer, being HP, is probably locked to used only HP brand toner, which is very expensive. Whatever savings you're getting here will disappear when you have to buy your first replacement toner (compared to a good generic on Amazon, for example).
1) the 50% back in rewards offer applies to ALL printers and paper on the same order this week. I also posted a deal for a really great Canon COLOR Laser Jet at $350 + paper with 50% back in rewards.

2) Rewards can be used on all merchandise, but not on gift cards or postage stamps. and you can spend them down as you choose. You can also price match at staples so you aren't overpaying on anything as you use your rewards.

3) Staples rewards DO NOT expire as long as you have activity , I think it is within a 12 months period, but not sure on the activity period to avoid them being forfeited.

Thanks for the explanation. Seems like a decent deal then. I checked and it looks like you can buy compatible HP 148X toner cartridges that come with a chip to bypass the HP toner lock on needing ultra-expensive HP brand toner. Thank you.

If you're still buying HP you just haven't been paying attention and you get what you deserve. Dude is here confirming you can pay for extra BS to avoid paying for extra BS. Good luck, suckers. Should work out fine until the next firmware update that is specifically being written to make things worse for you.
