The Tegenaria Lite is a wired Hall effect controller that stands out for low lag, no charging, and solid stick accuracy at a budget price. It works well on PC, Switch, and even PS3 setups, and the Xbox style layout makes Switch prompts easier to read. The Hall effect sticks and comfortable button placement draw praise, though the back paddles are limited to existing controller inputs and Linux support is shaky for Select and the rear buttons. Shipping can also erase much of the $10 bargain unless the order clears the free shipping threshold.

  • The wired design can reduce lag and avoids battery charging or pairing steps.

  • The controller can work well on PC and Xbox when used with Brook's adapter and PC mode.

  • The hall effect sticks and comfortable feel can improve control accuracy within the sub-$30 price bracket.

  • The Xbox-style button layout can help reduce confusion with Switch on-screen prompts.

  • The back paddles can behave as single-touch switches or Brook's adapter can misinterpret hold actions.

  • Linux can fail to recognize the Select button and the two programmable back buttons for mapping.

  • PS5 Remote Play compatibility can require a PS5 or PS4 controller, so third-party utilities may be needed.

  • Shipping charges can nearly erase the $10 sale price unless the order reaches $35+ or uses Walmart+.

I got the white one in the deal posted a couple weeks ago and I've got to say that I really like it in terms of feel and control accuracy. It definitely beats the other less-than-$30 controllers I have from 8bitdo and various lesser known companies. It doesn't measure up to some of the much more expensive controllers, but this Gamesir is an excellent choice for the price bracket.

Do you know if this works with remote play for ps5?
The official PS5 Remote Play software requires a PS5 or PS4 controller, so you'll have to use a 3rd party utility to emulate a Sony controller for compatibility (or use a 3rd party remote play alternative, like Chiaki or PXPlay).

Pass were in 2026 with bluetooth dongles that work with basically any controller I can't bring myself to spend money on wired off brand controllers even if only $10.

I'm on the opposite end. I love wired controllers. They have less lag, and require no batteries or charging. The controller brand is pretty good. I would put them a little below 8bitdo. The sticks will last longer than the alps sticks in first party controllers.

Wish Amazon would pricematch. The $7.99 shipping nearly wipes out the sale price, and I don't have enough other crap I need from Wal-Mart to bump up my total crat to $35...

I had to google it. I'm assuming it's this: https://www.amazon.com/Brook-Wire...ms&sr=1-25
I believe it is this instead.

https://www.amazon.com/Brook-Wing...B0BV2FW229

Which I am going to purchase b/c of a PS3 I was gifted (with no DS3 controllers).

That's the exact one I use with my ps3. I use a wired 8bitdo pro 2 for Xbox. It can't wake the system, but everything else works great.

I do agree that wired has its advantages. Number one for me is no pairing required - just plug and play. I play on several systems so that's huge for me. Definitely agree on the charging/no batteries. That's super convenient as well. Wired is also less sensitive to interference/signal loss.

However, many new controllers are versatile and have tri-mode connecitivity (wired, wireless dongle and bluetooth) so you can easily switch to wired if needed. I prefer the PlayStation layout so I wish GameSir would release a version of the Tegenaria T3 Lite controller with tri-mode and hardshell case like the Nova Lite. I know GameSir has the Tarantula T3 Pro and it would've been an insta-buy if it had membrane D-pad instead of micro switch.

Do any of these tri-mode controllers let you remove their batteries easily? I'd like to have options but don't want to worry about spicy pillows if I kept them plugged in 99% of the time.

Not that I know of, unfortunately.

Edit: My bad. It looks like the 8BitDo Pro 2 does have a removable battery pack. Alas, the placement of the Start/Select buttons make it hard for my thumbs to reach. The button placement on the T3 Lite just feels easier for my small hands and short stubby fingers.

Well, it arrived today.
My first thought is actually a bit of disappointment, because my OS (Linux) doesn't seem to recognize the Select button, nor does it recognize the two programmable back buttons. And even if it did, the manual for this controller suggests that you can only assign buttons that are already on the controller to the back ones, which kinda defeats the purpose for me. I wanted to register them as independent keys so that I could map the Emulator Fast Fwd / Rewind buttons for when I'm playing retro games. But no such luck.
I'll probably just keep it as a spare for company and go back to using my Switch Pro Controller, TBH. Guess I can't complain for $10...

Have you tried setting it to Android mode/input (hold Home + A button for a few seconds then lights change)? Also, I don't know how retro the games you want to play are but if they only need a D pad you could set the back buttons to L3 + R3 (joystick buttons) and map rewind and fast forward to those.

I think this is the only good one has removable battery and hall effect stick. I also like to buy controllers when I see them on sales, and the battery in wireless controller means they have a short shelf life, since the battery could go bad if you don't maintain them properly.
