Mine arrived with an expired warranty. Contacted Apple to update the purchase date. They tried to but ultimately could not because Woot was not the original seller, and the warranty is based on when it was sold by the original seller. So, while it is new in box, it does not come with the expected warranty.
Woot offered to replace it, but I assume any replacement would likely have the same issue, and I don't want to deal with porting the cellular service again.

This Apple Watch Series 9 deal stands out for the stainless steel, cellular model at a sharp price, with several recent purchases described as sleek and effectively like new. Recent arrivals included original Apple packaging, Apple certified refurbished condition, and batteries at 100 percent or fresh battery replacements. The main caution is warranty handling, since Woot units have arrived with expired coverage or required manual Apple date updates. It is a strong value if you are comfortable checking the warranty details.
Shoppers wanting a stainless steel watch with cellular, because recent units have arrived with 100% battery and feel like a steal at this price.
Buyers who want a polished-looking smartwatch, because it looks sleek and is considered better looking than titanium.
People comfortable with Apple-certified refurbished gear, because it can arrive in original packaging in perfect certified-refurbished condition.
Shoppers who want a refurbished Apple watch that feels essentially new, because Apple refurbs are described as basically new with a full warranty.
Buyers who need a guaranteed warranty date before purchase, because Woot-sold units can arrive with an expired warranty that Apple may not update.
Shoppers expecting a pristine cosmetic condition guarantee, because refurbished condition is not guaranteed to be pristine.

To be fair, people do this as well. "Q: Is this wild salmon" "A: yes it is". It wasn't, and this was at a very famous place.
