Looks like this is good for people with townhomes/condos that restrict open flame style smokers/Grills.

I have one of these (as well as a legit smoker)... I will say these are great for quick smoking in cold weather or like above mentioned homes with restrictions. The biggest con with these is the smoke flavor is a bit much and has a bit of fake smoke flavor to it. I found it best to pre-smoke the grill and let the smoke out then put your food in, then smoke for a shorter time and finish with a grill setting. I get wings that are quick and easy with a good crisp (20-30 minutes). I even did some quick tomahawks that came out awesome. It doesn't replace the real deal but a great set/forget with quicker results when the weather isn't ideal.

Tempting at this price. Looks like it uses the same standard pellets the larger grills use.

Thanks is there any difference in functionality of these models. OG951 or OG952 or just different color. I like the blue better

Not knowing anything else about this smoker, your description makes me think that it isn't burning the pellets hot enough to get complete combustion. BBQ enthusiasts are usually looking for a "clear blue" smoke that slowly imparts a mild flavor vs visible smoke that works quickly but adds bitter and acrid notes.
That's why size is an advantage for smokers: the fire has to burn very hot to get complete combustion and make clear, clean smoke, but many smoked foods need to be cooked at low temperatures for long times. The smaller the smoker, the smaller the fire, and it's hard to get very small fires to very high temperatures and keep them there consistently.
I had a cheap medium-large pellet grill that made amazing food if you cooked at 350F or higher, but absolute garbage if you cooked any cooler, because maintaining lower temps meant that the fire was always stopping, then starting again and belching out dirty smoke until it could start burning hot again.

Such an insane price. I bought the Pro Connect XL for $270 this exact time last year at Sam's Club. And that was after it was $300 in February of last year. The same price for this stripped down and smaller model? No way.

I'm pretty sure the person you're replying to doesn't actually know how this works. This device goes through an ignition process with the pellets for you add the food, which it tells you when to add the food

For starters, the pellets are only for the smoke flavor. So around the middle of your comment where you talk about fire and stuff for temperature doesn't apply to this device. It uses a heating element to cook.
