The Ninja Woodfire outdoor grill and smoker is a compact electric option for quick smoking, grilling, and air frying, especially where open flame is restricted in townhomes or condos. It can turn out fast wings and other weeknight cooks, and the smaller chamber is credited with even cooking and solid smoke flavor. The pellets are used for smoke flavor while the heating element does the cooking, but the smoke can taste a bit heavy or artificial, so shorter smoke times and a grill finish help. The base size feels tight for more than two people, and the XL is the preferred version for more room.

How are you liking it so far?
I love it, I use it every week. I can tell you I 100% would only get an XL model if I had to do it again. It's used only for 2 people, but there have been a few times where I barely fit what I was cooking and wouldn't have been able to make it if I had the base model.

Yes, I had them at the same time. I get incredibly better smoke flavor and more even cooking with the Ninja. In my option, the smaller chamber of the Ninja produces consistent results compared to the much larger Masterbuilt. I 100% wouldn't get this one though, the XL is a must.

There are a lot of folks who like how these cook, but I did not. Even with the woodfire aspect and using that properly, food is cooked basically like a george foreman grill and it tastes like that.

At minimum, if you're new to this style of electric grill I'd recommend making sure you try it with at least a few different things during the return window. Like I said a lot of people love it and how it cooks and you might too... but find out while you can still get your $300 back if you don't Big Grin

There might have just been better sales before? I looked up my order and it was for the OG701LW (which I believe is the Lowes-specific model but otherwise this same grill). This was January 2025 and it was $148.00 but IIRC it was a pretty stellar deal at the time, store pickup only, and very YMMV.

Prices probably have gone up but yeah not sure this is a stellar price but idk.

its kinda small , theres not a lot of vertical space id get the xl model. It also sucks that you have to buy accessories such as the griddle place and stand separately. the fan that circulates the air is always on when you close the lid so it will literally blow around anything light you cook.

I have one of these (as well as a legit smoker)... I will say these are great for quick smoking in cold weather or like above mentioned homes with restrictions. The biggest con with these is the smoke flavor is a bit much and has a bit of fake smoke flavor to it. I found it best to pre-smoke the grill and let the smoke out then put your food in, then smoke for a shorter time and finish with a grill setting. I get wings that are quick and easy with a good crisp (20-30 minutes). I even did some quick tomahawks that came out awesome. It doesn't replace the real deal but a great set/forget with quicker results when the weather isn't ideal.
