anyone know if this is good for recording sports when used outdoors in the direct sun? I'm talking >90*F. my iphone doesn't cut it because it will overheat eventually. looking for an alternative.

If you are trying to record to doc kids swing in slow motion maybe a good choice but not to record the game as an event. It's a wide angle only action camera. Thing fisheye-ish with a wide angle option and that's it.

This is a great camera for hiking and snorkeling. I've used it Hawaii and it was perfect. I preferred it over my older GoPro 10 by a large margin, granted it was much older.

These are better than GoPros. so if you were looking at a GoPro for whatever use case these can do it and have better sensor and picture quality.

yes, any dedicated camera will resist heat better than your mobile phone. Buy this or a gopro on sale.

It's really solid for recording games in 1080p and can handle a full weekend of gameplay without overheating. I've since upgraded to the 5, and it can record an entire weekend in 4K with no overheating issues.

I have this same model for diving. Works great and have used it at every dive spot I've been. Its waterproof to 60 feet without any case, but I purchased the transparent case since I didn't fully trust myself to stay within that range and under pressure the power/action buttons can depress on your behalf - essentially stopping recording. **btw, I had to edit my review above since I see the DJI app is now available in the Google Play store 😁**

Go with OSMO 5. It has better features compared to this one. Also, you get 4 hours of recording vs 160 minutes on this.
