The rubber where your thumb and pinky go degrades and gets sticky. I dont know why so many people recommend this mouse. Lasted maybe 6 months before I couldn't stand it anymore.

I've had mine for 8 years with no issues at all.

Anyone know if the buttons behind the scroller can be reprogrammed?
The button immediately behind the wheel is not technically a mouse button; it is a physical locking switch that alternates between clicking and free spinning for the scrollwheel. The button behind that one defaults to "switch profiles" for the mouse settings, but you can change it to be whatever you'd like using the software. (Source: I'm using this mouse right now.)
The $36 price on this is nothing unusual for the last few months at least. However, the $20 promo makes this a very slick deal.

There is only one button, right behind the wheel is mechanical switch that enables clicking effect for the scroll wheel. All other buttons are programmable, if you use G-Shift you can assign additional action for each button (similar to how shift works for keyboards).
Although, purchasing G502, you should know they have issues with button switches. I'm not sure if they have fixed recently, but for the past 7 years, I have purchased two g502 wired and one wireless, and all three of them had double click defect within 2-3 years. The first two of them I fixed myself by soldering better switches - this is complicated task for unexperienced, for the wireless I didn't want to waste hours repairing it, so I've found a replacement kit on amazon (just search for g502 motherboard replacement kit), no issues since then.
