Not bad considering the rp6 is going to cost you $90 more after shipping. Power difference is a lot but if youre not emulating switch. I recently ordered the ayn portal max for 265 bc of the bigger screen.

Shoutout to Russ! He does such an awesome job on that channel reviewing and testing all these handhelds. Top notch production.

I got this to run PS2 games, and to give you a straight forwards answer: Yes and No. It depends on the game. Something easy to run like Lego starwars is easy to run and is perfect. Jack Daxter 2/3 and Sly Cooper does not run at a playable framerate.
This is just wrong. So far Jak and Daxter trilogy and Sly 2 has ran just fine for me. In J&D case there were some graphical glitches (characters had laser eyes, etc) so settings had to be tweaked but I never had framerate issues. I was running it in high performance mode though.
Even before adjusting settings nothing was ever at an "unplayable framerate".

Don't waste your money, is a good system but the dam chip is 6 or 7 years old. U play up to ps2 but native mostly, u won't able to upscale most game. It can handle gc and wii but still just native and wii is hit or miss on certain games. Hold on to ur money and wait for pocket g2 or pocket 6 drop
2hats up with the nonsense and misinformation here? I have played tons of GC/Wii upscale to 1080P and other than some graphical glitches with the Mortal Kombat games they have run flawlessly.
Tbf if you upscale the MK games certain effects dont work right and a weird box surrounds the base of the fighters, so you either have to deal with that or run at native. But thats a glitch with upscaling, the framerate and everything else is perfect.

nope. Here's a starter guide, but getting emulators, bios, games, etc, you're on your on (for legal reasons).

Wrong. When you are doing the initial setup it gives you the option to automatically install a bunch of emulators. Some of them are outdated but they are there.
It includes a couple android pack in games I never touched, but for emulation games you are 100% on your own.

it has emulation consoles preinstalled? that's one of the complicated parts so that's nice.

I've played quite a bit of PS2 and GameCube upscaled to 2-4x and even a few Switch / PC games (lighter games of course). Not sure why you'd have to stick to native for PS2 as a rule.

It gives you a long list of applications and asks you what you do/dont want to install including 2 versions of retroarch, mupen64, 2 versions of Dolphon, etc. Also included are other applications like PokeMMO (you still need your own roms) and other android apps that I never tried.

The PS2 emulator isnt on the list and has to be installed yourself, that was a pain. Every other emulator I have installed myself has been easy.

Ayn as a company is a pos. ordered odin 2 portal on feb 6th. Because of the "overwhelming order" and Chinese New year, I have yet to receive a shipping confirmation.
Beg to differ, I ordered the Thor Max and got it promptly. Loving the shit out of that little beast.

I tried to order rp6 w/ its grip last night, but it showed around $300 after tax & shipping. So I didn't pull a trigger though. I think this is a better deal, $100 cheaper than rp6.

That's exactly my scenario, too. I just saw the final amount, and assumed it didn't take off the $15 promo for PayPal, but it looks like it DID take off the $30 & $15, but tacked on all kinds of taxes/fees beyond the standard ~9% tax. My total was around $185. Feels strange and inaccurate, but the discounts were definitely applied.
AliExpress clearly states this is a sales tax. Laws governing overcharging sales tax vary state by state, but most states (if not all) have laws against this happening (though several states say it's illegal to keep the money but fine if you send that full amount to the state DoR).

If they listed this as fees or whatever, it would be shady but legal. But they are branding this as sales tax and likely pocketing the difference which is illegal (it would make no sense to over-collect sales tax by such a significant amount if the seller plans to remit that entire amount to the state. It just makes their pricing less competitive.)

Some states allow you to file a form with the state to ask for a refund of excess sales tax paid, but that sounds like a huge pain and who knows the likelihood of actually getting a refund.

Shows as $225.29 for me after coupon, after I log in. Before logging in it showed the $200.49 price. I've always had trouble with shady pricing changes, issues with coupons, etc on AliExpress so I'm just going to stop buying from there. It's a shame, this seems like a good deal.

It looks the PayPal discount not showing up anymore. Anyone else having issues?
